Aalborg Industries participated in the 2010 edition of SMM (Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine technology fair) in Hamburg from 7-10 SEP and can now look back on a highly successful fair connecting all sectors of the marine industry.
This year, SMM attracted 2,003 exhibitors from 58 countries and 50,000 trade visitors from all parts of the world demonstrating its position as the world’s leading shipbuilding and marine industries fair.
We experienced a continuous activity at the Aalborg Industries stand where visitors could learn more about our business areas focusing on green technologies and solutions. The interest for our recently established business areas, Water Treatment Systems and Exhaust Gas Cleaning was immense, and also our waste heat recovery solutions were a draw. Special attention was given to the full scale AquaTriComb™ ballast water treatment model showcased on the stand. The operation and test scheme of our exhaust gas cleaning system installed on board the DFDS ro-ro cargo vessel “Tor Ficaria” were also paid extensive attention.
During SMM 2010, Aalborg Industries participated in the EGCSA (Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems Association) workshop where we met with delegates to discuss the latest news and technology developments and information on sulphur emission and particulate matter legislation.
SMM 2010 also framed the 50 years of cooperation between Aalborg Industries and our German representative Karberg & Schmitz.
Looking back at this 24th shipbuilding, machinery and marine technology fair, we are extremely satisfied with the course of events and are already now looking forward to the 25th edition in 2012.
